About Us

Social Responsibility

Pitney Bowes Software  is committed to ensuring our business and employees behave as good corporate citizens and focus on social responsibility within the communities in which they live and on a global scale. Pitney Bowes Software’s main efforts are focused on two broad areas; reducing the impact of our operations on the environment, and providing support for the improvement of education and literacy of children from disadvantaged homes.

Globally, Pitney Bowes contributes several $US million, and thousands of hours of volunteer employee time every year in providing assistance to the various communities where it operates.

In the Asia Pacific region, a Social Responsibility Project Team consisting of Pitney Bowes Software staff, develops and implements an annual program of community support activities to fulfil its commitment to act as a responsible corporate citizen, and to give its employees the opportunity to give back to their communities.

Helping to improve the education of children from disadvantaged homes

In Australia, Pitney Bowes Software works very closely with The Smith Family, a long-established national independent children’s charity committed to helping disadvantaged Australian children by unlocking opportunities through education and literacy. Please visit http://www.thesmithfamily.com.au for more details.

Pitney Bowes Software is pleased to provide the following support to date:

  • Assistance with the mapping and analysis of The Smith Family sponsor database to help improve the effectiveness of their sponsorship drives

  • Encouraging employees to volunteer their services in support of student mentoring programmes run by The Smith Family

  • Allowing employees to volunteer their time during business hours to assist with various fundraising activities including the Christmas Tree gift appeal

  • Making periodic financial donations to fundraising events such as The Smith Family Winter Appeal.

Reducing the impact of our operations on the environment

PB Software is pleased to apply the following environmentally-friendly practices:

  • We seek, wherever feasible, to house our operations in environmentally-friendly buildings, with good access to public transport

  • We encourage energy saving practices in all offices by minimising power usage where possible

  • We purchase materials, provisions and equipment that are sourced from environmentally-friendly manufacturing processes, such as recycled paper and print cartridges and bio-degradable cleaning products

  • We focus on recycling our office wastage, food garbage, empty containers, paper, print cartridges and mobile phones

  • We promote material saving practices such as reading soft copy documents in preference to printing hard copies, printing double-sided when printing is essential, providing marketing collateral, software and associated documentation in downloadable form rather than hard copy

  • We encourage staff to volunteer their services during business hours, in support of worthy environmental campaigns such as Clean-Up Australia Day, Keep Australia Beautiful Day, National Tree Day, the global Earth Hour event, and local emergencies such as flood, earthquake or bushfire damage recovery.
