Jonathan Wright
Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific
Jonathan Wright is responsible for the strategic direction and development of Pitney Bowes Software across the Asia Pacific region, with a strong focus on corporate growth, building market share and delivering high quality solutions and services to customers. This role keeps Wright in close contact with all areas of operations, as well as providing coordination and support to regionally based staff.
Wright has been a cornerstone of the APAC Pitney Bowes Software management team for more than 10 years, initially as finance and operations director for MapInfo (acquired by Pitney Bowes in 2007) and more recently as Asia Pacific commercial director. Responsibilities in this role included ownership of all due diligence and acting as the chief representative for the China and Singapore offices.
Wright played a key role in the acquisitions of ERSIS Australia, Dimasi Strategic Research and Encom, as well as helping to establish MapInfo offices in Japan, Singapore and China. Throughout this period he has developed an unparalleled understanding of the market, with a passion for evolving location intelligence solutions.
Prior to joining MapInfo, Wright worked in several key positions at DataEase Sapphire International, a software company jointly headquartered in USA and UK, culminating in his role as Acting Chief Financial Officer, UK and USA in 1995. Wright has also previously worked with Ernst & Young, London and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, South Africa.
Wright is a graduate of Charles Sturt University, where he completed his Master of Business Administration, majoring in Commercial Law. He has a strong financial background having completed Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce degrees at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Wright is also a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
