Gary Roberts
Executive Vice President, EMEA
Gary Roberts was promoted to Executive Vice President of Pitney Bowes Software for EMEA in October 2010. He joined Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software & Pitney Bowes MapInfo as UK General Manager from Microsoft in February of 2008. Gary joined Microsoft in 2000 as an account manager in the retail team managing blue chip clients such as Marks & Spencer and J Sainsbury. In 2007 he was appointed Sales Director of Commercial Sector; here he was responsible for 180 Enterprise clients and a 50-strong team focused on driving customer satisfaction, solution sales, partner engagement and revenue.
Gary developed his interest in IT by joining ICL Retail Systems (Fujitsu) in 1998, where he led the organisation's UK Store Systems Sales Team. He joined Laura Ashley in 1988 and undertook several retail and supply chain HQ store management roles before becoming Head of Worldwide Store and Inventory Systems in 1996. Gary started his career in 1983 on the BhS graduate training scheme and rapidly rose up the ranks to become the youngest high street store manager in BhS history in 1987.
Gary is married to Paula (22 years), has 2 children, George (17) and Lucy (14) and when not undertaking business travel, lives in the Severn Valley in Mid Wales. His hobbies are family, sport (sadly more watching than playing these days) and funding his children's expensive hobbies.
